According to the report of PMI Institute, lack of identifying the correct requirements has been introduced as the second cause of project failure (in various industries). Furthermore, organizations that lacked sufficient knowledge and maturity in the subject of business analysis, fail in financial performance, implementation of organization strategies and so on or at least have encountered very low effectiveness (PMI report). That's why many organizations have focused on the subject of business analysis recently. In fact, the main motivation of organizations in using the knowledge of business analysis is to address two components; problems and opportunities which are technically known as business needs.
Organizations are like a living organism as they go through different life stages during their life and they face problems at each stage, which should be identified, analyzed and documented as the most important step. They should also determine effective solutions to fulfill business needs and meet the requirements of stakeholders. This process is a summary of the business analysis practice in which the organization is transformed from current state to desired future state through defining a change strategy and implementing a solution that will be further evaluated in order to increase the value for stakeholders.
